The 40th anniversary of the VAB celebrated on October 19, 2016

The VAB was the culmination of a program launched in 1970 by Defense Minister Robert Galley. It was introduced into the 1st Infantry Regiment (RI) in 1976. Since then, more than 40 versions of the VAB have been produced.

Over the years, the VAB has evolved under various flags, from SAVIEM, its first manufacturer, to Renault Trucks Defense (RTD), and today continues under the name of Arquus.

Animated by its heritage, RTD celebrated the 40th anniversary of the VAB during a party organized at the Invalides, under the aegis of the military governor of Paris Bruno Le Ray. On this occasion, the VAB was exhibited at the Invalides, an illustration of the military history of yesterday and today, which is still being written in our regiments.
