Standing before you is SABRE from Arquus: a new generation light patrol vehicle, specifically designed for elite units and special forces. It fulfills a clear ambition: to provide operators engaged in the most complex missions with a reliable, mobile, powerful, and fully adaptable tactical platform.
Special forces operate in demanding environments, often autonomously and deep into unsecured areas, urban or desert, day and night. Their missions require stealth, mobility, firepower, resilience, and significant payload capacity. SABRE you see before you meet these exact requirements.
Drawing on Arquus' extensive experience serving the French Army and numerous partner forces worldwide, SABRE is already in differents special forces'units. It is NATO-qualified, ensuring interoperability and compliance with the highest operational standards.
The SABRE can carry up to 7 fully equipped operators, with a GVW of 11 tons, while transporting a large amount of gear, weapons, ammunition, and communication systems. Its modular platform can carry main weapons like a remote-controlled turret, along with other mission-specific systems like electronic warfare, long-range observation, laser targeting, satellite communications, or jamming.
In terms of performance, the SABRE is powered by a 260 hp engine. It features a 6 speed automatic transmission and a 4x4 drivetrain, offering exceptional mobility. The vehicle is fitted with rigid axles, springs, and dampers, a wheelbase of 4.1 meters, and 365/80 R20 tires with run-flat capability, ensuring stability and performance on all terrains, even at full load.
SABRE is also designed for endurance and autonomy. It comes equipped with key systems for extended missions such as :
- Cabin heating for extreme climates, mainly to help with engine start-up in very cold temperatures, down to -32°C
- A battery management system
- A 310 A alternator to power all onboard systems
- A CTIS tire pressure management system o And an integrated spare wheel
But beyond its technical features, it is SABRE’s design philosophy that sets it apart. Developed by and for operators, the vehicle places strong emphasis on ergonomics, ease of use, and battlefield. It is fully customizable and configurable to meet specific operational requirements and engagement environments.
SABRE is equipped with two independent fuel tanks, which gives it a long operating range in the field. If one tank is damaged, the vehicle can keep going. It also has a dual electrical system for increased reliability.
The vehicle showcased here at IDET has been developed in close cooperation with our local partner VTÚ, to meet the expectations of the Czech military authorities. This collaboration reflects Arquus' commitment to establishing a strong local presence, bringing not only technology, but also support and tailored adaptation to national needs.
SABRE embodies Arquus’ vision for special operations forces : stealth, firepower, agility, autonomy, and total mission adaptability. It is a tactical superiority tool, designed to support the most committed soldiers in their most sensitive and demanding missions.
