Arquus highlights its robotics capabilities and its role in major defense programs

At the first edition of the BEDEX defence exhibition in Brussels, Arquus is presenting its technological solutions and industrial expertise as part of the John Cockerill Group. The company is notably displaying its DRAILER robotic platform and highlighting its contribution to the SCORPION programme, a key pillar in the modernisation of the French Army’s land forces.

DRAILER: a robotic platform designed for land operations

On its stand, Arquus is showcasing DRAILER, a ground robotic platform developed to support units in the field and enhance their operational capabilities.

Built on a four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering architecture, DRAILER can operate across challenging terrain while automatically following troops thanks to its onboard sensors and GPS-based navigation system.

Its modular design enables it to carry up to 750 kg of payload and integrate a wide range of equipment depending on operational requirements, including:

  • observation and intelligence systems
  • electronic warfare modules
  • demining or investigation capabilities
  • remotely operated weapon systems or long-range missiles

The platform can also be fitted with a remotely operated weapon station developed by Hornet, illustrating the technological synergies within the group.

Thanks to several energy-replenishment solutions — such as energy-generating towing or an onboard diesel engine — DRAILER can achieve an operational range of up to 200 km while maintaining a high level of operational discretion.

A key contribution to the SCORPION programme

Arquus’ presence at BEDEX is also an opportunity to highlight its major role in the SCORPION programme, which aims to renew and modernise the combat capabilities of the French Army.

Within this framework, the company supplies the complete driveline systems for two next-generation vehicles: GRIFFON and JAGUAR. These systems include the main components that ensure vehicle mobility, such as the engine, transmission and running gear elements, contributing to their high level of off-road performance.

The Hornet family of remotely operated weapon stations also serves as the main armament of the GRIFFON and the secondary armament of the JAGUAR, enhancing crew protection and strengthening the engagement capabilities of deployed units.

Logistical support for these vehicles is also provided by Arquus, notably through its industrial platform in Garchizy, which is dedicated to the SCORPION programme.
